Its the most wonderrrfulll timeee of the yearrrrr
I dont know about you guys, but once the cold November breezes start blowing in, I am dying for December to get started.
Luckily for us in Germany, Christmas is not one day but a whole month of activities, the best part being the fabulous ChristkindlMarkts
My favourite so far is the Christmas Market on Fraueninsel in Chiemsee.
Only accessable by small festively decorate shuttle boats from the local towns around the lake
For those not at all familiar, Christmas markets are these collections of little wooden shacks decorate with branches and ribbons, glittering lights
and sellings knick knacks galour
The markets are warm and cozy, they smell like everything sweet and delightful
BUT the Glühwein, ohhhh the Glühwein, let us never forget this goodness in a cup that is magical wine mulled with holiday spirit and flavoured with joy
But to be honest, the real fun is at night time
The island offers a wonderful winter carneval atmosphere
You can take a stroll as a pair thanks to the exciting accessories available
Listen to some great mountain music
or simply take in the marvelous magical displays
Whatever strikes your holiday fancey I am sure you will find it there.
It was my second year visiting the christmas island, and I will surely be going back next year. So go ahead, take my advice and treat yo self to some festive fun
