Playing about Paris

What better way to begin your first eurotrip than with a trip to Paris?

FullSizeRender 4.jpg

and no no, I’m no spring chicken when it comes to the euro game, but my Californian cousin S sure is. She planned to finally get out of the country with a three week trip to stay with me, and naturally we had to plan to do some traveling elsewhere.

As  I have ( or havent) previously mentioned, I used to live in Paris. So for me, it was more of a revisiting my youth.

but onward to the trip. It started out great, we even made a friend on the plane

When we arrived in Paris it was sunny and divine. We met up with my friend N from London

Pose pit stop

and headed straight to the Parisian Paradise that is Ladurée

my happy place

We had a marvelous afternoon tea and were in Macaron heaven

We unfortunately were only in Paris for two days, so the rest of the time we ran around doing all the splendid touristy things and sight seeing.

We ran around all the major monuments,

Notre Dames

strolled by the Sein

a little pop by the Moulin Rouge

and ate in far too many cafes

FullSizeRender 5.jpg
So many decisions, so little time

I must admit, I really do love the culture in that city. It can be very difficult at times(a reason I didnt stay) but as a visitor its nice to see how everyone moves so casually and in their own way. They seem to do what they want, when they want and dont care otherwise. The cafe life is much different as well.

late nights in Montmartre

Going out is about spending time with people, not a focus on the eating itself. You enjoy your company, the view, the time. Theres no pressure or rush to do anything else but enjoy yourself.

Although our trip was brief, it was grand. And the perfect european introduction for S.

As for me, I will be back very soon… as my macaron stash is getting low

Here we are now with another of Aspen’s Munich cafe recomendations. Todays highlight being: Hoover & Floyd aka the cafe shop that looks like it was decorate by a multitude of enlgish grandmothers with an affinity for textures.

fullsizerender-7

Not to say it isnt completely fabulous,

The decor is so alive and aethetically appealing

FullSizeRender 6.jpg

I have only come here for coffee and drinks ( both I can highly recomend)

fullsizerender-3

Some light snacks and cakes I have dabbled in-cakes always good! but I must confess I mainly come for the atmosphere. The ladies working there are always so lively and happy, the music is usually a cheerful 60-70s blend and in the evenings the colours are wild and superb

fullsizerender-4

Its nestled up in Glockenbach-naturally where all my spots are-just a short walk from müllerstraße…

Unfortunately I couldnt brunch myself today ( already used up my cheatday, boohoo) but soon I’ll be on it and back to ya’ll..but if your in the neighborhood I highly recomend you got there for a visit, and If its before my next trip let me know the deets on the eats (;

Schneewittchen am Glockenbach

Schneewittchen am Glockenbach

Hurray! absolute best day, I found the cafe that was made exactly for black hair, pale skinned, red lipped girls like me.

fullsizerender-4
this little snow white was super duper excited

fullsizerender-15

Thats right, SCHNEEWITTCHEN am Glockbach.

fullsizerender-9
honestly, how sweet is that?

Nestled up deep in the heart of glockenbach, sits my new favourite cafe.

fullsizerender-14

Its bright, inviting, cozy and clean. I absolutely adored the warm winter environment. It was the perfect place for any person big or small

fullsizerender-8

I unfortunately cannot speak to much about the food, I had simply enjoyed a sweet little coffee date this day.

fullsizerender-5
Chocolate cappucinos are the best afternoon treats

but certainly the cakes were catching my eye…

FullSizeRender 10.jpg

The menu seemed to be filled with all the sweet treats a princess could need and winter wonders to make anyones moment

fullsizerender-11

not to mention the decorations were positively adorable

FullSizeRender 12.jpg

I’ve made up my mind and I shall certainly be back for a beautiful brunch after my upcoming adventures. I would advise you to come along with me as well to this süß Snow White wonderland

Ooh baby I like it raw

Ooh baby I like it raw

No, its not a secret confession just the name of  one of my favourite  cafes.

fullsizerender-8

Nestled up cozy in the Glockenbachviertal sits this environmentaly casual cafe. Everything you need and more.

FullSizeRender 5.jpg

Probably one of my top choices when I am craving a good piece of cake ( which I must admit is often my weakness) They have so many options as well. Most of the time gluten free and dairy free are on the menu, woohoo!

FullSizeRender 4.jpg
And that mint infused water, honestly how sweet can you be

Might I go onward and add their weekly menu is fresh ta death.

Every week a new specials menu is posted on their facebook page. The set menu is pretty hard to beat. With fresh baked bread, soups, salads and oh so fabulous brunch options the owner and I are quite familiar with eachother.

Ooh baby  I like it raw opened in September 2015, although I’ve spent most of my time there during this past  summer when they served up some of Munich’s best sunshine ready spritzers. However now that the weathers cooling down, Ive found out they know how to keep the heat up.

So yourself a favour and head over. Cozy up with some cocoa or coffee and get your cake on  Aspen style. Promise you, you wont regret it.
